Vintage '57 Humbucker

A variation of my classic "Vintage '59" humbucker that uses AlNiCo 2 magnets to add a bit more mid-low end body and soften the top end slightly, combined with a slightly lower wind to retain clarity and string definition, and prevent any "muddiness" that can happen with an AlNiCo 2 magnet. Both positions use rough-cast A2 magnets, with the neck hand-wound to approximately 7.0k, and the bridge to approximately 7.2k. Made with 42awg plain enamel wire, butyrate bobbins*, nickel-silver baseplate, maple spacers and specially selected steel pole-pieces, slugs and keeper bars. Available uncovered or with nickel, raw nickel, brushed nickel, chrome or gold covers. Bobbin options include double black, zebra, reverse zebra, double cream** or double white. As standard these pickups are not wax potted to achieve a more open and detailed sound.
