Chinese Lac Burgaute Snuff Bottle
A striking Chinese snuff bottle crafted in the lac burgaute technique, featuring deep black lacquer with mother-of-pearl detailing. It features a flower and a butterfly on each side, surrounded by a beautiful diaper pattern in gold and mother-of-pearl. The compact, elegant design is characteristic of snuff bottles from the Qing Dynasty period, however, this bottle is believed to date to the early 20th century. It is approximately 2.5 inches tall. It has the original stopper with a broken spoon.
