Quip's Tale is a low fantasy urban mystery, exploring themes of ambition, survival, and moral dilemma.Masters of filching smaller items, Quip and Avie Daggart are siblings living in the city of Craos, a grim environment with a harsh divide between the wealthy Centralites and their darker-skinned cousins. Their lives take a woeful turn when Avie is kidnapped, leading Quip on a frantic search to try and save her. His one lead: a sapphire ring with a hawk etched into it, recently stolen by his sister. As Quip delves deeper into the city’s underbelly, he unearths conspiracies and secrets of the privileged, forcing him to navigate the political machinations of his best friend Douse without losing him, too. Grappling with his own guilt, Quip is made to answer the question: how far is he willing to go for family, and survival?
