The Lahti L-39 was Finland’s heavy 20 mm anti-tank rifle, designed by Aimo Lahti and produced by Valtion Kivääritehdas (VKT) during the Second World War. Chambered for the powerful 20×138 mmB cartridge, it was developed to give Finnish troops a stronger answer to armoured targets than smaller-calibre anti-tank weapons. Nicknamed “Norsupyssy” the “Elephant Gun” the L-39 earned a reputation for accuracy, penetration, and long-range performance. Its size and weight made it difficult to move in the field, but its distinctive profile and battlefield role made it one of Finland’s most recognizable wartime weapons. As Soviet tank armour became thicker, the L-39 was increasingly used against lighter vehicles, bunker openings, field positions, and long-range targets rather than modern medium tanks. Our 3D printed model captures the unmistakable silhouette of the Lahti L-39, including its long barrel, large muzzle brake, top-mounted magazine, and heavy anti-tank rifle profile. A strong display piece for collectors of Finnish military history, Second World War equipment, and iconic Nordic firearms.
