CSEP Webinar: Updated ACSM Resistance Training Guidelines
In March of 2026, Dr. Stuart Phillip's lab at McMaster University played an integral role in updating the 2009 ACSM position stand on resistance training. This is the first such update for the ACSM led by Canadians and has industry wide implications on the work being done by Qualified Exercise Professionals. Join Alysha D'Souza and Caroline Lowisz, two authors on the overview and PhD students from McMaster University, as they dive into what went into the update and how this affects the practical elements of resistance training! Designed for trainers, coaches, and clinicians seeking to stay at the forefront of best practices, this webinar provides practical tools to ensure that you are providing the best possible care to those you work. You'll also have the chance to get an in depth understanding of how these decisions are made at an academic and organizational level.
