Cocktails & Cologne Fragrance Formulation Class ONLINE: October 24th, 2026

Intermediate level class Please note this is an online Intermediate level botanical perfumery class. This class assumes a level of prior perfumery knowledge obtained by taking previous perfumery classes with Charna Ethier. In order to enroll in this class, you must have taken a beginner level class i.e. the Weekend Natural Perfumery Intensive Part 1 course or the Formulating Natural Oil Based Fragrances course. Cheers! This natural perfumery class focuses on creating boozy unisex accords that draw their inspiration from classic cocktails such as herbaceous gin and tonics and gin and juice, oak forward scotch on the rocks and cherry infused old fashioneds, savory Bloody Marys and zesty coladas. Students will utilize a variety of rare botanical essences in order to create balanced cocktail themed unisex scents that are both intriguing and enjoyable to wear. Composing cocktail themed creations using botanical essences is no easy feat and students will be tasked with the careful usage of challenging accessory notes as well as the utilization of rare, hard to find perfumery materials they may be unfamiliar with. Some of the exotic and exciting essences in the materials kit include oakwood, celery, key lime, maltol and rum ether! This intermediate level natural perfumery course is activity focused with the majority of the class spent formulating, and will allow students to create accords from a variety of fragrance families including eau de cologne, gourmand, fresh/citrus, herbaceous, amber, fruity and woody. Registered students will receive a kit of perfumery materials, bottles and lab ware valued at over $250 included in the price of the course. Also included are the course syllabus and access to the live zoom class which runs from 11:30 am - 4:30 pm EST Saturday October 24th, 2026. The materials kit will be mailed to students prior to the class date and is necessary for all class exercises. Students will have materials remaining after class to ensure that they may continue to practice formulating on their own and developing learned skills after the class ends. Materials kit includes: 18 qty. botanical essences 6 qty. labeled wide mouth vials for storing fragrance mods 18 plastic pipettes 24 scent strips Attendees will focus on creating six different fragrance mods during class. Please note all classes are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. Students must have access to perfumers alcohol (approximately 3 ounces minimum) and a small (20-50 ml.) beaker as these are the only materials needed for class that are not provided. Students must have access to wifi and a free zoom account to participate in class. Class size is limited and registration is available on a first come first serve basis.
