70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 9% Zinfandel, 7% Sangiovese, 1% Cabernet Franc TASTING NOTES The 2023 Cave Blend opens with inviting aromas of dark bramble fruit and ripe black cherry layered with hints of cinnamon and dried rose petal. On the palate, the wine is supple and polished, revealing flavors of dark plum, blackberry, and warm baking spice supported by soft tannins and a silky texture. Cabernet Sauvignon provides the backbone of the blend, while the supporting varietals add vibrancy and complexity. The finish is smooth, generous, and lingering, making this wine exceptionally versatile and easy to enjoy. Originally known among the Del Dotto family as the “hot tub wine,” this blend has long been the perfect bottle to open for relaxed moments—crafted to be enjoyed whether shared with friends, paired with a meal, or simply savored on its own. VINEYARD The Cave Blend is crafted from a selection of vineyard sites across Napa Valley, including St. Helena, Calistoga, Oakville, and Rutherford. The blend changes slightly each vintage, allowing our winemaking team to select the best-performing varietals and vineyard lots to create a balanced and expressive Napa Valley red. A portion of the blend also incorporates select press wines from our Estate vineyard program. These wines add additional depth, structure, and richness, contributing to the layered character and complexity that define the Cave Blend. First produced in 2000, the Del Dotto Cave Blend reflects the spirit of our renowned cave and barrel tasting experiences—approachable, expressive, and crafted to showcase the artistry of blending.
