RIPPLE TANK

Transparent acrylic plastic ripple tank, supported by a robust plastic frame with recesses for four legs and leveling feet. The tank's borders are contoured to reduce unwanted reflections. Two light alloy uprights contain a horizontal rippler support rod that can be adjusted in height. The ripple assembly is elastically suspended from the support rod and comprises of a 4 - 6 V DC motor installed on a hardwood beam. The motor has an eccentric weight, causing the beam to oscillate. Two plastic spheres set on right-angle rods serve as two-point sources. A metal rod is inserted centrally into a socket on one short side of the frame to provide support for the illuminant. The tank is 580 x 500 x 80 mm in total, with a window area of 370 x 280 mm and a height of approximately 375 mm above bench level (when legs are added).
