Intense heart cherries, berries, and chocolate on the nose. Juicy, striking, with fine fruity sweetness and powerful tannins and acidity structure.Ageing/Vinification: Vinification: Fermentation on the skins takes place in stainless steel tanks, with regular cap punching-down for 15 days. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing for 24 months in French barriques and tonneaux, one third of which are new oak. Fermentation temperature: maximum 28°C. Maturation period: 24 months. Bottle ageing: 12 months.Vineyard: Cultivation area: Gries (Bolzano), at 260 m above sea level. The soil is sandy-loamy with a quartz-porphyry composition, in a flat plain area. The grape variety is Lagrein, trained using the pergola system, with a planting density of approximately 3,000 vines per hectare. The yield is 55 hl per hectare.
