Arts & Science Moonstar Low Basket Shoe in Dark Violet

A simple design often considered the archetype of the sneaker, this shoe is a collaboration between A&S and MOONSTAR. MOONSTAR is a Japanese brand based in Kurume City, Fukuoka – a town that has flourished as a center of the rubber industry for over 150 years. The shoes created in this collaboration are based on standard models from MOONSTAR’s FINE VULCANIZED series and feature A&S’s original Voile cotton duck peach washer fabric. Woven from thick cotton double yarn, the duck cloth is finished with a lightly brushed surface and a washer treatment, giving it a soft feel and a gently faded look. Made in Japan. Sonya Park launched Arts & Science in 2003 in Daikanayama, Tokyo. It was born out of her frustration of not finding the things she wanted. Arts & Science epitomizes the Japanese approach to design, with a blend of understated elegance and functional luxury. The balance between beauty and functionality is paramount to A&S.
