Townshend Maximum Ribbon Super Tweeters *Used*

This is very good condition pair of the famous Townshend Super Tweeters, which use very low mass ribbon diaphragms to reproduce frequencies above those of most normal tweeters. They are supplied in their original box and with piggyback connecting cables. Designed to sit atop your existing speakers, and be wired in parallel with them by piggy backing them off the speaker terminals, they are easy to fit. Some care is required in setup, both via the level control on the rear but also in terms of positioning, where fore and aft positioning can have an obvious effect, depending upon frequency overlap with the existing tweeter. Advocates find that they can add a degree of air to the sound, increasing image size and just in the same way extending the low frequency response with a sub woofer can appear to improve the high frequencies, so too can super tweeters appear to influence the perception of low frequencies. Naturally the results will depend upon the speakers they are used with, they can be especially beneficial with speakers where the high frequencies are not as extended as they could be (which covers a lot of older loudspeakers.
