About the wine A sweet Alsace Gewurztraminer made from a selection of botrytised berries gives it exceptional concentration. It comes from granite soils in Orschwiller, is certified organic, sits at 10.75% ABV, carries 98 g/L residual sugar, and was harvested on 23 October with just 1,100 bottles produced. Tasting notes Marmalade, sweet spice and orange peel lead the way, with a full, fragrant palate and a long finish that trails into gently toasted notes. Opulent, smooth and properly decadent. About the winemaker Domaine Allimant-Laugner is a true family estate in Orschwiller, with roots going back to the 17th century and more than 12 generations behind it. Hubert Laugner took over in 1984, and since 2013 his son Nicolas has been leading the cellar, production and marketing. The family farms 12 hectares, makes around 15 wines, and the estate is known for small-scale, hands-on work.
