One of the most significant changes is that we no longer make us of aluminium in our cables. Aluminium is popular mainly because it is affordable and easy to work with. But due to its brittle and artificial tone as well as the hysteresis effects it causes, it is in no way a suitable material for audio equipment. That is probably why there aren’t any musical instruments made of aluminium……. Stepping away from using one of the most cherished materials in the audio industry is a radical move, but when pursuing impeccable sound quality, it was necessary. Cables are often overlooked and considered unimportant, but we cannot stress enough that high-quality audio cables are essential for maintaining high-level resonance control as they are prone to micro-vibrations just as any other audio product. Aluminium reinforces these oscillations. So it was a question of either suppress them afterwards and effectively lower the noise floor in a signal carrier, or simply just not use a material that’s inherently sub-optimal for the task. This change significantly improves the performance across the roster and marks the third generation of Ansuz cables.
