Handmade Turkish kilim two seater sofa - 310430

Our specialist Kilim upholsterer has crafted this Howard-style sofa to show this beautiful Old Kilim to its best advantage. The timeless classic Howard design, created in the early 1900s, has been replicated to best effect. The pleated fabric-bladed arm is ideal for this robust Kilim fabric with a fixed upholstered seat and back, making it a perfect design fit. The Kilim is cut as sympathetically as possible, ensuring the material is shown to the best advantage when planning the fabric's layout on the sofa. It is surprising how much Kilim is needed to cover a frame, and every bit is used up, with the leftovers being made into cushions and draught excluders. Before the Kilim is fitted to the sofa, it is bonded to a secondary fabric to prevent the open areas from exposing the fillings and to make it more secure. The seat height is 44cm.
