Inline 3D Inspection for Micro Bead Dispensing The Coherix 3D Mini™ is a compact, inline 3D inspection system designed for precision dispensing of small and micro adhesive beads from 0.2 to 3.5 mm. Using four high-speed 3D laser sensors mounted around the dispensing nozzle, the system captures a complete bead profile—measuring the height, width, volume, and location in real time. Acquiring up to 400 samples per second per sensor, the Coherix 3D Mini micro bead inspection device provides continuous visibility into dispensing performance. It can detect defects such as gaps, skips, and neck-downs as they occur. The embedded processing software analyzes the bead geometry against the defined specifications to help identify variation and optimize dispensing performance without the need for an external computer. When integrated with Coherix Adaptive Process Control (APC), the micro adhesive bead inspection system also enables real-time process adjustments to reduce scrap and improve consistency. The Coherix 3D Mini™ bead inspection system supports Adaptive Process Control (APC) to continuously monitor dispensing performance using 3D measurement data. It analyzes bead geometry and placement against defined specifications to identify process variation in real time. When process drift, part variation, or dispensing inconsistencies are detected, the system can communicate with dispensing equipment to enable on-the-fly adjustments. This process control for micro bead dispensing helps maintain consistent bead quality, reduce variation, and improve overall process stability without interrupting production.
