Nitto M1 Mark's Front Rack

Designed by Rivendell's Mark Abele, the Nitto M1 has become a modern classic front rack choice for aesthetic minded individual's! For those with caliper brakes, this rack is especially great for you. Carry up to 11lbs of gear in any way you like - as a saddle bag support (yup! the M1 mounts to the rear too!), strap down your gear directly with a voile, or zip tie a basket to increase the platform width for wider bags. The world is your oyster! The M1 comes with two bent 15cm struts (great for mounting this rack on the rear seatstays!) and two 26cm struts for front fork installation. Hot tip! For those without mid mount fork braze-ons, get a pair of band clamps. If you're mounting your M1 on a bike without caliper brakes, you'll need a bolt and nut (sold separately) to attach the diving board to the fork crown. An important note from Rivendell about the M1: "ALWAYS use this rack with a tether between the tall tongue-loop and the handlebar. It's a strong little rack, but people do dumb things, and the tether is a safety measure. Make the tether out of cord or any adjustable strap." Max Payload: 11lbs
