F/A-18 Hornet 77 Squadron "Swift to Destroy" Unisex Hoodie

The F/A-18 Hornet served as one of the Royal Australian Air Force’s primary multirole fighter aircraft for more than three decades. Operated by No. 77 Squadron RAAF from 1987 to 2020, the Hornet provided Australia with a highly capable air combat platform able to perform both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. Based at RAAF Base Williamtown, the aircraft combined advanced radar systems, beyond-visual-range missile capability, precision strike weapons, and excellent manoeuvrability, forming a key part of Australia’s air combat capability during the late Cold War and post-Cold War eras. No. 77 Squadron operated the “Classic Hornet” extensively throughout the Indo-Pacific region, regularly participating in major multinational exercises including Pitch Black, Red Flag, and Talisman Sabre. The squadron also deployed operationally in support of Operations Slipper and Okra, including Middle East combat operations against Islamic State targets in Iraq and Syria. In Dec 2020, No. 77 Squadron retired its Hornet fleet after more than 33 years of service and began transitioning to the Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II, marking the end of an important chapter in modern RAAF fighter history.
