The key difference between the two products is: Attenuation SuDS planter, the planter is bypassed by the flow completely and enters the main tank directly. The soil is not wetted by the inflow. Bio-Attenuation SuDS Planter, the flow must pass through the soil media layer to allow filtration and remediation of the roof rainwater. The soil is wetted by the inflow. Rainwater enters the soil media via a unique drainage channel at the rear of the planter, this discharges into the planter and subsequently enters the main vessel. In high intensity storms a screened high level overflow ensures flows can bypass the planter and enter the tank. In addition the soil media can offer mitigation against pollutants including heavy metals and hydrocarbons. The Bio-Attenuation planter is suitable for rainwater discharging from residential roofs. The Prestige Bio-Attenuation system has the following features which achieve Biodiversity Net Gain objectives and CIRIA SuDS requirements: Vegetation : this influences the performance of the system through direct uptake of pollutants and by facilitating physical and chemical processes in the soil that remove nutrients. Water Tray: the shallow water tray provides water for feeding birds Soil Media: Typically selected based on void ratio, support for plant growth and ability to adsorb pollutants. Geotextile/Filter separator: this is to prevent the movement and loss of the soil media. Overflow: which allows excess flows to pass. This modern planter is available in oak colouring and is made from MDPE, a high quality robust material, making the water planter both weather and frost proof.
