EDENS GARDEN Drainage Mesh
Drainage Mesh Drainage Mesh is designed to separate the drainage layer from the planting substrate in terrariums, paludariums and bioactive enclosures. It prevents soil particles from falling into the drainage layer while allowing excess water to drain freely, helping the drainage system remain effective over time. When used together with a drainage substrate such as LECA, expanded clay or pumice, it creates a clean separation between the water reservoir and the root zone. This layered system helps reduce waterlogging and provides a stable foundation for larger planted terrariums. Typical Layer Structure Place the terrarium on a stable, level surface. Add a drainage layer using LECA, expanded clay or another suitable drainage material. If desired, add a light layer of activated charcoal over the drainage layer. Cut the Drainage Mesh to fit the footprint of the terrarium and lay it flat over the drainage layer. Add your terrarium substrate above the mesh. Arrange hardscape such as rocks or driftwood. Plant mosses, ferns and other terrarium plants. Water gradually until the substrate is evenly moist. Suitable Applications Natural terrariums Tropical terrariums Bioactive terrariums Paludariums Vivariums Features Non-toxic plastic mesh Allows efficient water drainage Prevents substrate from mixing with the drainage layer Helps maintain long-term drainage performance Easy to trim to fit different terrarium sizes Will not rot or decompose under normal terrarium conditions
