Truthfully, we don't know much about the producer behind this coffee. The lot arrived with very limited information, and beyond its origin in Cerro Punta, Panama, the producer remains unknown. What we do know is that Cerro Punta sits among some of the highest elevations in Panama, surrounded by lush mountains, dense vegetation, and protected forests. While we can't confirm the exact farm conditions, the name and region suggest a landscape that is cool, humid, and heavily influenced by its surrounding natural environment. At 1800 masl, coffee trees experience significantly cooler temperatures than those found at lower elevations. These conditions naturally slow the maturation of the coffee cherry, allowing it more time to develop sugars, organic acids, and aromatic compounds. The result is often greater complexity and clarity. This lot is a washed Geisha, a variety celebrated for its floral aromatics and elegant structure. The washed process removes the fruit before drying, placing greater emphasis on the characteristics developed in the field.
