Produced from 100% Nebbiolo from Tenuta Carretta’s Cascina Bordino vineyards on the eastern slopes of Treiso, this is a serious, traditionally styled Barbaresco Riserva from steep, exceptionally well-exposed vineyards planted on lean sandstone soils interspersed with silty gray marl. The wine undergoes extended maturation—a minimum of 50 months from the harvest, including oak aging—and the 2019 shows ripe red cherry and sour cherry, wild rose and violet layered with spice and subtle ethereal notes.
