Smile Thank You Tote - Blue/Yellow

The reusable, washable, embroidered Thank You tote inspired by plastic bag graphics was originally created more than a decade ago to commemorate San Francisco’s historic plastic bag ban, the first in the US. The now-expanded series celebrates worldwide efforts to continue the ‘ban on the bag.’ Machine-embroidered on fabric made from 100% recycled materials and certified to meet the Global Recycling Standard, the totes are a friendly reminder to reuse and recycle. Co-founder of Open-Editions, Lauren DiCioccio lives in San Francisco and works primarily in the media of soft sculpture and embroidery. Her work explores the expressive qualities of cloth and thread; she uses these materials to make objects about empathy, nostalgia, melancholy and joy.
