On a journey to New Zealand, I discovered this remarkable, iridescent Pāua shell (wild Abalone) and sterling silver pendant, handcrafted by a local silversmith. Captivated by its unique contours and shifting, luminous nacre, I kept it safely tucked away for years, waiting for the perfect spark of inspiration. To finally bring this piece to life, I complemented the shell's oceanic blues, greens and gold with precious green tourmaline and aventurine. Two gleaming freshwater pearls echo the setting's original pearl accent, while irregular Hill Tribe silver beads add an organic, artisanal texture that honours its origins.
