Dry graphite lubricant for euro cylinders The Sentry+ Lock Lubricant is a dry graphite lubricant for the moving parts inside a lock. Applied through the keyway, it keeps pins, cams and followers moving freely, so the key turns cleanly and the mechanism is not forced. A lock is worked several hundred times a year and wears quietly. Stiffness usually shows first at the key, then at the handle, and is often mistaken for a fault in the lock or the door. A short application every six months prevents most of it. Graphite is used rather than oil for a practical reason. General-purpose oils and water-dispersant sprays hold dust, drawing dirt into the keyway and making the action worse over the following months. This leaves a dry film instead, and does not attract debris.
