The church fell. The rose window survived.I found it on a bike trip with my daughter and husband, on our way to my son's wedding in Kos, Turkey. The window was still there in the ruins — a 15th-century stone circle, its petals radiating outward in perfect symmetry, more beautiful for having outlasted everything around it.
