Raw Pu-Erh Across Time - 14:45 in the Lobby Cafe

What happens to a tea over decades? Join Erick Smithe of Cloudwalker Tea for a focused tasting of two raw Pu-Erh teas at very different stages of their development: a 2015 Old Growth Raw Pu-Erh and a 30+ year raw Pu-Erh cake, served first without introduction and revealed during the tasting. The teas will be prepared successively in traditional kungfu style and tasted through multiple infusions. Rather than talking around the tea, we’ll follow what actually happens in the cup — how aroma, texture, flavour, structure and aftertaste change as each tea unfolds. The comparison offers a direct look at aging in raw Pu-Erh: not as theory, but as something you can taste and observe for yourself. Limited to 10 guests, the session offers an opportunity to spend focused time with teas rarely encountered in a typical festival setting. No previous Pu-Erh experience is necessary.
