Along the kora, only to find yourself standing at the place closest to the sky. Tibetan tradition holds that a mountain pass is where this world draws nearest to the divine, where a wish is most likely to be heard. It is here that pilgrims pause to scatter lungta — small paper squares printed with scripture and sacred creatures — releasing them into the wind, letting them scatter across the sky in every direction. Once scattered, a lungta belongs to no one — it rides the wind wherever it leads, settling on rock, on meadow, in places no one will ever know, much like a wish itself: once spoken with sincerity, it need not be held onto any longer. At a mountain pass of your choosing, we carry out this scattering on your behalf: your wish is printed onto lungta — joining the scripture already filling the sky, carried by the kora's wind toward a distance you will never see.
