About This Plan: If you've found the view lot, Abrams Mountain is the home to put on it. It's a mountain craftsman lodge built around a vaulted, timber-trussed great room that opens straight to the outdoors, with a primary suite wing that earns the word retreat. And because it's drawn as a true walkout, the lower level opens to grade at the back and gives you a whole second floor of living. You come in through a foyer that frames the view before you've even taken your coat off. Ahead, the great room rises into vaulted timber trusses around a corner fireplace, and it runs open to a gourmet kitchen, a breakfast nook under a domed ceiling, and a formal dining room. Off the great room, a covered outdoor living area stretches the gathering space into the open air, so on a clear day the inside and the mountain read as one room. The primary suite sits in its own wing on the main floor, well away from the rest of the house. It has a spa-like bath with a soaking tub and a walk-in shower, and dual walk-in closets sized for two. A study near the entry gives you a quiet room to work or read without carving into the bedrooms.
