Father, Our Hearts We Lift

Set to a text by Charles Wesley, this SATB piece features a lyrical hymn-like melody that supports the text’s themes of peace, praise, and salvation. It is supported by a legato sixteenth-note motif in the piano accompaniment that adds momentum while preserving the work’s reflective character. Ideal for Christmas, this piece is of moderate difficultly for both the choir and the accompanist but will amply repay any extra rehearsal time needed.
