GEE GETIG ER309L Stainless Steel TIG Filler Rod

GEE GETIG ER309L Stainless Steel TIG Filler Rod

Brand: Gweld

GETIG ER309L Stainless Steel TIG Filler Rod GEE GETIG 309L / ER309L is a stainless steel filler rod designed to produce a 24% Chromium / 13% Nickel austenitic stainless steel weld metal with approximately FN 12 ferrite content. Its high alloy level and ferrite content allow the deposited weld metal to tolerate dilution from carbon and low-alloy steels while helping prevent hot cracking. The deposited weld metal is specified as radiographic quality. Key Features GEE GETIG 309L / ER309L Austenitic stainless steel filler rod Approximately 24% Cr / 13% Ni weld metal Ferrite content approximately FN 12 Good tolerance to dilution from carbon and low-alloy steels Helps prevent hot cracking Radiographic-quality weld deposit Good general and intergranular corrosion resistance Suitable for dissimilar metal welding Suitable for buffer-layer applications DC negative welding current Product Specifications Specification Details Brand GEE Limited Product Name GETIG 309L Identification GETIG 309L / ER309L Product Type Stainless Steel TIG Filler Rod Classification AWS A5.9 ER309L BS Classification BS2901-90 309S92 DIN Classification DIN 8556-86 WSGX2CrNi 24.12 Weld Metal Type Austenitic Stainless Steel Ferrite Content Approximately FN 12 Shielding Gas Argon, 99.99% Gas Flow Rate 6–12 L/min Welding Current DC (-) Tensile Strength 540–650 N/mm² Elongation 35–45% CVN Impact Value 50–100 J at 0°C Standard Length 1000 mm Available Sizes 1.6 mm, 2.0 mm, 2.40 mm, 2.50 mm, 3.15 mm, 3.20 mm Packing per Packet 5 kg Packing per Box 20 kg (5 × 4) Chemical Composition Element Range Carbon (C) 0.03% Max Manganese (Mn) 1.0–2.50% Silicon (Si) 0.30–0.65% Chromium (Cr) 23.0–25.0% Copper (Cu) 0.50% Max Nickel (Ni) 13–14% Molybdenum (Mo) 0.50% Max Sulphur (S) 0.03% Max Phosphorus (P) 0.03% Max Typical Applications Buffer layer on mild steel Buffer layer on low-alloy steel Joining clad steels Dissimilar joints between stainless steel and mild steel Dissimilar joints between stainless steel and low-alloy steel Joining ferrite-martensitic stainless steels Welding 309-type stainless steel Joining 304 / 304L stainless steel to mild or low-alloy steels Joining 347 stainless steel to mild or low-alloy steels Joining 321 stainless steel to mild or low-alloy steels Joining 316 / 316L stainless steel to mild or low-alloy steels Joining duplex stainless steel to mild or low-alloy steels Corrosion Resistance The deposited weld metal provides good resistance to general and intergranular corrosion, along with good resistance to oxidizing acids and cold reducing acids.
