BARREL INFO: This was a collab with Chris from "Whiskey Noobs." We are splitting the barrel 50/50. This is the first-ever Old Elk Barrel to be released by Middle West Spirits since they purchased the brand in 2025. This is also one of the oldest bourbons that has ever been released under an Old Elk label. TASTING NOTES NOSE: Apple cinnamon and some bready notes, similar to an apple pie. Hint of chocolate and stewed cherries and cold (1.6/2.0) FLAVOR: Sweet but also savory in a way. I get more baked apples, cinnamon, and some sweetness like a cherry cola. (1.6/2.0) MOUTHFEEL: Very oily, with a lot of viscosity, sticks to your cheeks well (1.8/2.0) FINISH: Long and lingering, some spice with baking spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, along with seasoned oak. A little more chocolate (1.6/2.0) VALUE: $85.00 MSRP for a 10-year single barrel (1.8/2.0) TOTAL LIGHTNING COUNTER SCORE: 8.4/10
