Step 1: Gentle Stops (to bed the pad and disc geometry) 20 normal stops from 30 mph (50 kph) to a complete stop with light pedal pressure. Step 2: Medium Stops (to increase the pad temperature above 400°C to condition the pad) 20 medium stops from 75 mph (120 kph) to 25 mph (40 kph) at about 0.4-0.5 g. Step 3: Heavier Stops (to fade the pad and outgas) 10 heavier stops from 77 mph (125 kph) to 25 mph (40kph) at about 0.6 g. Aim to do 4 stops per minute. Step 4: Controlled cool down (to control the cool down of the brake) Cool the brake to below 100°C by driving at around 50 mph (80 kph) without braking for around 15 minutes. This bedding procedure should ensure correct interaction of the braking couple (pad and disc) and give optimal performance of your brakes as well as preventing damage to the disc through inefficient braking. _____________________________________ -High-speed driving involves significant risk and should only be performed in controlled track environments.
