Kaizen Event Planning & Daily Management
Planning for and leading kaizen events can be both exciting and scary. Today students will learn the key steps to ensure their next kaizen event is a success - including how to use data and metrics to support, track progress (or lack of progress) and celebrate success. Discussion and in-class exercise will differentiate the different types of kaizens: individual kaizen activities, team-based kaizen events, and strategic kaizen projects. And while kaizen events are necessary and effective, you cannot expect to sustain initiatives and results without a plan for daily kaizen management. During this half of the workshop, we will bring awareness to the importance of daily tracking boards used to show process status, make problems ugly and summon problem-solving activity. Also includes a review of additional daily management tools such as SQDC boards, Strategy Boards, and Idea Boards. You may participate in just this workshop, or consider the Kaizen Event Leader Learning Path; five 4-hour workshops that give team members the knowledge and understanding to begin implementing Lean countermeasures in their processes to drive out waste.
