SAPHIR HOPS German Hops Saphir features elements of spice and fruit amid refined citrus notes of tangerine. It is considered well suited to Belgian Whites as well as Pilsners, German Lagers and even Kolsch. T45 hop pellets are concentrated hop pellets with double the alpha acids and less plant matter. They yield 45% weight from original whole cones. How T45 Differs from T90 Weight Ratio: 100 lbs of whole hops yields 45 lbs of T45 pellets (versus 90 lbs for standard T90 pellets). Concentration: Non-essential green vegetative matter and stems are removed, concentrating the lupulin, essential oils, and bittering acids to roughly double the potency. Processing: Often milled at very low temperatures to separate and protect the potent compounds. Benefits in Brewing Less Trub: Adds half as much physical plant material to the kettle or fermenter for the same bittering or aroma impact. Higher Yields: Reduces beer loss soaked up by excess hop matter, which is especially useful in heavy dry-hopping or hazy IPAs.
