Original antique Soviet cinema poster for the 1924 silent comedy film Папиросница от Моссельпрома / The Cigarette Girl from Mosselprom, directed by Yuri Zhelyabuzhsky and produced by Mezhrabpom-Rus. The poster features a Constructivist design by pioneering graphic artist Isaak Rabichev (1896-1957), depicting a caricature of the legendary comic actor Igor Ilyinsky collapsing down the colourful lettering of the film title, set over a blue background. Printed by the Book Factory of the Central Publishing House of the Peoples of the USSR, Moscow. Good condition, restored tears, restored paper losses, creasing, restored folds, staining, backed on Japanese paper.
