Aurelle Daily Shield SPF 50 is a broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen formulated for skin prone to hyperpigmentation, and specifically for people managing melasma. It is designed to be worn daily as the final step of a morning routine, layered over a brightening treatment. Sun protection is not an optional companion to melasma treatment but a functional requirement of it. Ultraviolet radiation stimulates melanocyte activity directly, meaning that pigmentation which has been faded through treatment will re-darken with unprotected exposure. This is one of the most common reasons a brightening routine appears to stop working: the treatment is effective, but daylight is reversing it at a comparable rate. The formula uses titanium dioxide, a mineral filter that reflects ultraviolet radiation at the skin surface rather than absorbing it chemically. Mineral filters are generally better tolerated by reactive skin than chemical alternatives, and avoid the heat generation associated with some chemical filters — relevant for melasma, where heat itself can act as a trigger. Glycerin and hydrolyzed collagen maintain hydration and give the formula an even, non-tacky spread. Vitamin E provides antioxidant support against free radicals generated by daylight exposure. The product is fragrance-free, non-comedogenic, and formulated to avoid the visible white cast that mineral sunscreens frequently leave on medium and deeper skin tones — a common reason daily use is abandoned. It layers over moisturisers and treatment creams without pilling and can serve as a base beneath makeup. Application: approximately two finger-lengths of product for face and neck, applied as the last step of the morning routine after any treatment products. Reapplication every two hours is recommended during sustained sun exposure. Under-application is the most frequent cause of achieving less protection than the labelled SPF. Format: 50 ml.
