Ziricote is one of the most striking woods used in fine cabinetry, prized for its dark, almost black grain streaked with irregular, cloud-like markings. No two boards ever look alike, and this Large Diamond humidor is built to let that natural drama speak for itself. The spider-webbing everyone looks for Ziricote's signature is a pattern cabinetmakers call spider-webbing: fine black lines that branch across the surface like ink dropped in water. It appears only in certain cuts and cannot be predicted from the log, which is why premium Ziricote is graded by figure rather than by board foot. The panels on each humidor are selected and matched by hand for exactly this reason. The system inside Boveda packs supply the moisture, working in both directions, releasing when the interior dries and reabsorbing when it climbs. A dynamic ventilation system then circulates that humidity through the cabinet. At 70 cm and more than a hundred cigars, the distance between the packs and the far end is enough for a gradient to form on its own; circulation removes it, so the box at the back ages at the same rate as the one at the front. Internal LED lighting turns the interior into a display the moment it opens. The humidor runs on a solid oak drawer with a Blumotion soft-close mechanism rather than a hinged lid, so opening it does not empty the conditioned air in one movement, and solid timber rather than veneer keeps the front flat over years of humid air on one face and dry room air on the other. Capacity and care The 120-cigar figure is measured on a standard Toro, around 135 Robusto, and shifts with ring gauge. Keep the humidor below roughly 21 °C and out of direct sun. Above about 24 °C tobacco beetle eggs can hatch inside a cigar, which is the one failure that costs a whole box. The wood asks only for an occasional dry cloth, with no polish and no solvents. It holds around 120 Toro cigars (roughly 135 Robusto), measured on a Toro and shifting with ring gauge. Slimmer vitolas raise the number; thick ring gauges lower it. Do I need to add water? No. Humidity is managed by two-way Boveda packs, so there is no reservoir to fill. You simply replace the packs when they stiffen, typically every two to four months. How does it keep humidity even?
