Navicula
Navicula takes its form from the diatom — a microscopic organism that lives in water and produces half the oxygen we breathe. Layers of strong bamboo plywood build a fine, skeletal skin, lit from within by an LED strip that lifts a soft glow upward and across the ceiling. At its scale, Navicula works as a true feature: over a long dining table, in a lounge, foyer or reception, or as sculpture in its own right. Awarded a Gold Best Award (2016) and a Good Design Award (2017), and featured in the 'Floating Beach Bach' on Grand Designs New Zealand (2020).
