Delille Cellars Chaleur Blanc
DeLille Cellars has been making Chaleur Blanc since 1995, and it is inspired by the great white wines of Bordeaux, particularly Chateau Haut-Brion and Chateau Margaux. It's a classic blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, with the DeLille team bringing what they learned in Bordeaux back to Washington to see what this combination could do in the Columbia Valley. Quite rich but zesty and focused, this leads with aromas of lemon curd, white peach, kiwi, toasted spice, and liquid stone. The Sauvignon Blanc brings freshness and lift, while the Semillon adds textured depth. Packed with flavor but fresh and zippy all the way through, this is a serious white that is terrific with grilled fish, scallops, or seafood.
