ROASTED GREEN TEA: Hoji-Genmaicha, Japan

Hoji-Genmaicha Roasted green tea, Japan Flavour: charred wood, caramelised milk, malt ~ light-bodied, low caffeine Hoji-Genmaicha is a blend of hojicha (roasted green tea) and roasted mochi brown rice. After harvest, leaves are steamed, rolled, dried and roasted, then blended with the roasted rice. The infused tea’s sweet and smokey fragrance draws you in. It is light in body with a soft mouthfeel and delicious notes of charred wood, caramlised milk roasted nuts, toffee and rice bubbles. Its caffeine content is very low. This June 2025 harvest is grown and crafted by Obubu Tea Farm, Kyoto, Japan - an agricultural social venture with a strong focus on high quality tea, community contribution and tea education. Infusions: specialty tea leaves can all be steeped at least twice, and often more, so each 3 gram serve (150 mls - a standard teacup size), will give you two cups ('infusions') if you steep the leaves twice.
