The Socialites are the members of an enormous extended family of great wealth and fame. They have manged to retain their grip on small corners of the Dead Earth, usually through manipulation and bribery. Sometimes they need to resort to violence - bringing exotic weaponry to the field. No.4, Ganger joined the fray purely out of spite. A former paramour suggested to her that she wasn't serious enough for the field.
