She often photographs birds in a mobile field studio against a white background, isolating the subject and forcing the viewer to look at the bird in an almost portrait-like manner. About the photographer Sanna Kannisto (born 1974, in Hämeenlinna, Finland) studied photography at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. She lives in Helsinki. Her works has been exhibited at venues in more than thirty countries around the world, including Aperture Gallery New York, Centre Pompidou Paris, Busan Museum of Art South Korea, Fotomuseum Wintherthur Switzerland, Kunsthalle Fridericianum in Kassel Germany, Centro de la Imagen Lima Peru and the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki.
