ANGEL ORB / RING / EAR CUFF / RED

Born of light and quiet grace, ANGEL ORB is a wearable sculpture that can be worn as a ring or an ear cuff. Created in collaboration with a workshop in Arimatsu, Aichi Prefecture — the birthplace of a 400-year-old Japanese textile art known as Shibori. Using the Arimatsu Shibori technique, fabric is wrapped tightly around a marble, bound, then subjected to heat. The thermoplastic nature of recycled polyester allows the fabric to permanently hold its gathered, sculptural form. The result evokes the image of a bud: newborn, pure, and full of quiet energy.
