Boer War Australian Commonwealth Horse 2nd type rising sun uniform hat badge

Second pattern Australian Army Rising Sun hat badge, introduced in April 1902. It is crafted from bronze and metal alloy, retains both lugs to reverse and measures 62mm x 45mm. A scarce badge, rarely seen for sale. The badge was issued to Australian troops serving in the Second Boer War. The design featured a scroll with the words “Australian Commonwealth Horse” and replaced “Australia” with “Australian” in the main arch. Sold as viewed.
