Fender Custom Shop MVP 1966 Stratocaster Relic Masterbuilt by Levi Perry! (one of his final builds) Featherweight - Only 7.2 lbs!!! This 66 Stratocaster Relic is part of the Dealer Select Master Vintage Player Series (MVP) Limited Edition, built exclusively for Make'n Music in the Fender Custom Shop!!! This particular instrument is Masterbuilt by Levi Perry (one of his last builds for Fender), and custom designed to offer the Ultimate in Tone, Playability and Feel. Each guitar is hand-made to our specs in order to give the vibe and look of an actual vintage instrument, but with all the conveniences of a true modern player's piece. This particular guitar is based on our MVP Stratocaster, but spec’d as a ’66 Strat with the vibe and style of a "Hippie Era" natural refin, which has been hand-distressed to replicate decades of road worn wear and tear! A set of Custom Shop Master Design pickups Masterwound by Josefina Campos (Bone Tone in the neck and middle, Master Design LTD in the bridge) provide plenty of spank, twang and sparkle with just enough extra beef in the bridge to keep things sounding meaty and well-balanced overall. Another nifty feature is the push button S1 switch hidden discreetly in the center of the volume knob. When activated this puts the "neck + bridge" pickup combination at your fingertips, for all those Jimmy Page / Ritchie Blackmore type tones - Even a bit of Tele flavor! Of course all the classic Stratocaster sounds you know and love are still there too- Right where they should be. While Fender Custom Shop Master Vintage Player Series Strats and Teles may look and feel like actual vintage guitars, they play like a dream. The neck profile is our ultra-comfy, "MVP Perfect C" profile. At .825" - .945" it's perfectly shaped to fit in any size hands. Gently rolled edges and 6105 fret wire, along with the flatter 9.5" radius and 1.687" nut width allow for easier chording and faster leads without fretting out. We also requested 22 frets and the "Ultra Contour Heel" for incredible access to the highest registers. Adjustments are a breeze too! The Truss Rod is accessible from the headstock, so you no longer have to remove the neck for a tweak. Still not convinced?
