There's a reason the plain Oxford never goes out of style, and this is a very good one. The upper is a top-grain mahogany calf, coloured in layers over a natural base so the toe and heel carry real depth, a shoe that photographs dark and only wears richer the more you put it on. It's Goodyear welted, the honest way to build a shoe: the sole is stitched to the upper through a leather welt, not glued, so years from now it gets resoled and goes back into rotation instead of the bin. Underfoot is a studded rubber sole, so you keep the clean lines of a dress Oxford but get grip that handles wet sidewalks and gravel without a second thought.
