This is our premium 5mm range — genuinely thicker, noticeably heavier in the hand, and more resistant to splitting under everyday handling than our original 3mm bamboo, for a small price premium. If budget is the main factor, our original 3mm vertical-text bamboo hanger remains a great, well-priced option. Why does thickness matter for bamboo? Bamboo is genuinely strong along its fibres but can be prone to splitting if real pressure is applied across the grain — a well-documented property of the material, not a manufacturing defect.
