3M Double Sided Sheet Mounting VHB™ Tape - Gray, 62 Mil, 1" x 36 yds | Trailer Siding, Frame and Skin Mounting Tape
3M VHB™ Tape - 1" x 36 yd, Gray, 62 Mil GPH-160GF Trailer Siding & Panel Mounting Tape Shipping: Free Shipping Handling Time: 1–3 business days Description: Bonds panels straight to the frame: no rivets, no screws, no visible fasteners showing through your siding Seals overlaps against water and weather: lays down a continuous, weatherproof seal at every seam Flexes without failing: the foam core absorbs road vibration and handles hot summers and cold winters without cracking loose Sticks to metal, aluminum, and painted surfaces: grips on contact and keeps building strength over the next few days 1" wide x 36 yd roll, gray, 62 mil thick (~1.6mm): built for structural trailer panel work Coverage: one roll typically handles 3–4 full 49" x 96" sheets when you're taping to the frame and overlapping seams This gray foam tape is built for mounting trailer siding to the frame and sealing the overlaps where panels meet. It grabs on contact, then keeps strengthening over the following days until it's holding as solid as a rivet, minus the drill holes. Because the foam core flexes, it rides out vibration and temperature swings instead of cracking, and it seals each seam against moisture for the long haul. How to Apply Clean both surfaces first: Clean the back of the sheet and the frame. Sand either areas of adhesion if necessary to remove gunk or increase gripping. This is the step that makes or breaks the bond, so don't skip it. Wipe both surfaces down with isopropyl alcohol before taping. Let it fully dry. Optional: for the most secure adhesion, you can prime the surface with a tape primer first, not required, but it adds extra insurance. Press and roll: once you've stuck the tape to one surface, roll it down firmly before peeling the liner and mounting it to the other side (frame or sheet). This locks in full contact and the strongest bond. Other Ways to Use This Tape This isn't a one-trick trailer-siding tape, it's part of 3M's commercial vehicle lineup, so it covers a few other jobs you'll likely run into: Trim, molding & emblem attachment: mounts plastic or metal trim pieces, badges, and emblems to painted or powder-coated surfaces with no visible fasteners Other commercial vehicles: the same tape family is used for panel attachment on truck bodies, ambulances, fire trucks, and buses, not just trailers Panel-to-panel bonding: toolbox lids, access panels, and other body panels that need a clean seam without screws General mounting & assembly: anywhere you'd normally reach for a rivet or screw and want a smooth, weatherproof finish instead
