The Original Design Created for a home that needed to change with the occasion. The first Console & Dining Table was designed for clients at Brandeis University who regularly entertained large groups in their apartment. They wanted a generous dining table when guests arrived, but not one that occupied the room every day. That requirement led to an unusual solution. Rather than hanging down like conventional drop leaves, the tabletop folds onto itself. The doubled outer legs swing outward to support the open top, making the transformation part of the structure and character of the table. How It Works From console to dining table. 01 Closed The two leaves rest one above the other, forming a narrow console. 02 Open the Top The upper surface unfolds to create the dining surface. 03 Position the Legs The paired outer legs swing outward to support the extended top. Designed for Flexible Living Space-saving furniture should still feel like real furniture. The Console & Dining Table was designed to work convincingly in both configurations. As a console, it has a purposeful, architectural presence. Opened for dining, it becomes a substantial table for meals and gatherings.
