Spirited. Lively. Never Far From The Action. Willie Wagtail is a whisky that proves restraint can be just as rewarding as experimentation. Matured in a 3rd Fill 100L French oak ex-Pinot Noir barrel from Scotchmans Hill Winery, this release takes a different path to its Rare Series predecessors. Rather than dominating the spirit, the well-seasoned cask steps back, allowing the character of our new make to take centre stage. The result is a whisky of balance, texture and elegance, where spirit and oak work in harmony. Like the bird that inspired its name, Willie Wagtail is energetic, engaging and impossible to ignore. Always on the move, it darts and dances through the landscape with confidence and charm, bringing life wherever it appears. Tasting Notes Nose Lemon meringue pie, vanilla wafer and Amaretti biscuits. Palate Coconut friands, toasted sourdough spread with cashew butter and finished with a drizzle of honey. Finish Satin-textured and richly mouth-coating, carrying lingering creaminess and a long malted fade. Bottled at 50% ABV and limited to just 161 bottles, Willie Wagtail is our smallest release of 2026 and the final whisky in this year’s Rare Flight collection. A whisky that celebrates spirit over cask, texture over intensity, and balance over bravado.
